Whether it’s Dacula High School graduate and Decatur FC star Becky Contreras going pro in Mexico or the NWSL coming to Georgia, women’s soccer is here and growing. We’ll be doing our best to bring you along and tell the story of that growth, where it’s been and where it’s going.
Like the picture above of a team from the 1930s in Spain, you can't tell the complete story of this sport without the women's game. We decided to break the subject out into its own beat, not to create divides, but to intentionally celebrate women's contributions to the game in Atlanta and across the state.
We’re also seeking collaborators who want to join our team in order to build this outlet and this coverage. Our hope is that - someday soon - this magazine can support new voices interested in expanding coverage of The Women’s Game. If you’re interested, reach out by email to paul@12thnews.com.
We're currently unpaid, but as that changes, we're committed to ensuring that collaborators receive an equitable share.
