City and Club stories dive into Atlanta United and its relationship with the city. More specifically, they're about the club's economy, stadium, and supporter culture, and they way the relate to the people of Atlanta and their environment.

At The 12th, we write stories for Atlanta's soccer scene, and Atlanta United is at the center of that scene.

The 5 Stripes broke the Atlanta sports curse, bringing the first national championship in a major sport to the city in a generation, with their 2018 MLS Cup win. If you haven't been to a United match yet, it's one of Atlanta's best experiences,  including Supporters Clubs and family-friendly programming.

Hammering the Golden Spike, a match-day tradition

We don't usually cover matches for the sake of matches. Our focus is on longer stories that connect what's on the field to what's off it. As a reader, you can expect the following from our coverage of the 5 Stripes.

Big Storylines - More than game by game, we're taking one step back and following the big stories and arcs of the organization and each season.

From the People - We let the community speak for itself. Fans have a voice, and we honor that.

On to Off Storytelling - Stories following players' journeys on the field to what's happening in their lives and the world around them. It's the supporting context that makes Match Day even better.

The 12th isn't the place for tactical geniuses who want to use deep analytical algorithms to pore over game tape. But, if you are that kind of person, we are the place that would love to write a story about you and why you love it!
